Your First Surf Lesson in Tamraght
Trying surfing for the first time should feel exciting, not intimidating. Tamraght offers a relaxed setting where beginners can learn the basics with clear coaching and equipment chosen for their level.
Before entering the water
Your instructor starts on the beach with a short warm-up, an introduction to the surfboard and a simple safety briefing. You will practise lying in the correct position, paddling and moving from your stomach to your feet.
A stable soft-top board makes the first attempts safer and more forgiving. Ask questions whenever something is unclear: understanding the plan before entering the water gives you more confidence once the lesson begins.
Catching the first waves
The first goal is not perfect style. It is learning to recognise the right moment, paddle with commitment and stand in a balanced position. Your coach stays close, offers one correction at a time and adapts the session to your energy.
Falling is part of learning. Keep your arms relaxed, protect your head when resurfacing and listen to the instructor when the current or conditions change.
After the lesson
A short debrief helps turn the experience into progress. Note what worked, what felt difficult and one thing to focus on next time. Rest, hydrate and enjoy the fact that every surfer started with a first wave.
